About Dr. Ariadne Luchian
Dr. Ariadne Luchian is a psychologist working under Dr. Ainoshin Tatematsu at Kanagawa Futurist Technologies Institute. She has a specialization in behavioral psychology, specifically classical & operant conditioning.
Her staff code is [776101995] and her associated color is purple-pink.
As of the start of SESSION 1, also known as Tetro Danganronpa PINK, she was 31 years old. As of current writing during “Chapter 1” of SESSION 2, also known as Tetro Danganronpa BLUE, she will be turning 33 shortly, on the 30th of October.
Dr. Luchian is a friendly and peppy member of the KFTI staff, attempting to maintain a positive work environment where she can. She's often cheerful and cares about many of her coworkers, and is often playful in an attempt to lighten the atmosphere of the workplace. She tries to not allow herself to shut down because of the events occurring in her workplace regularly, but this has led to her putting lots of pressure on herself to continue appearing happy and kind.
She became close to Seki Kuneyasu rather quickly after her employment at KFTI, bonding with him over their shared domain of psychology, much to Dr. Toranosuke’s annoyance. See more in 'Relationships'.
Because of her connection to Seki Kuneyasu, Ariadne has attracted the attention of Dr. Kan Toranosuke. He views her incredibly poorly, and often uses her and Seki’s care for each other to manipulate the both of them. Ariadne is often called into Toranosuke’s office alongside Seki despite her role lying in the Psychology department. This has greatly worn Ariadne down mentally and she has gradually developed incredibly paranoid tendencies when it comes to being around Dr. Toranosuke, although she often dismisses it while speaking to others as something she is able to “handle”. Ariadne is of Romanian origin, her family coming from the Muntenia region of Romania. The older sibling of a childhood friend taught her Japanese after she expressed an interest in it. She moved to Kyoto to attend Kyoto University after she graduated high school, eventually obtaining a Doctorate of Psychology.
She has been employed a moderate amount of time at Kanagawa Futurist Technologies Institute. Because of the lack of information on how long her coworkers have worked there I cannot provide a specific number of years, but she is definitely not new by any means.
Ariadne Luchian's Interpersonal Relations
Within the workplace Ariadne gets along with many of her colleagues, notably Tamemichi Tsutsujio, Yuba Dannake, Kurumi Erita, Nene Kichibe, Galahad Murunaga, and Shinsuke Kitamuro. Her coworkers’ feelings on her relationship with Dr. Kuneyasu are mixed considering his actions, however many of them overlook her closeness with him because of her caring and helpful nature.
As of before SESSION 1’s beginning she and Dr. Kuneyasu have been involved with each other romantically, referring to each other as their “partner” and “boyfriend/girlfriend”. Ariadne is also very close to Neneka Kuneyasu, having met her through her husband, and their relationship dances between “close friends” and casual dating. Unfortunately Ariadne is unable to maintain much contact with Neneka because of the nature of her job, but she and Seki try to synchronize their OMS to be able to visit her & Tomomi together. Dr. Luchian views Tomomi Kuneyasu as something like her own child, caring greatly for her, and Tomomi views her as a sort of aunt or close family friend of sorts.
Her relationship with Tamemichi Tsutsujio leans mentorly, sometimes parent-like, as they’ve bonded over their shared specialty in behavioral psychology. She is extremely proud of him, much like Dr. Kitamuro, and feels incredibly bad that she hasn’t been able to protect him from Dr. Toranosuke. Her closeness to Dr. Tsutsujio is what led to her interacting more with Shinsuke Kitamuro, allowing a friendship between them to develop as well as a result of both of them caring greatly for Tamemichi and later bonding over other shared interests. She and Dr. Kitamuro are often referred to as “Tsutsujio’s divorced-but-never-together work parents”, which she finds funny and plays along with.
She is also very good friends, occasionally more, with Yuba Dannake, having bonded very quickly once they began talking to each other. Dr. Dannake has provided lots of support for Ariadne, and she is one of the few people Ariadne trusts fully with communicating her stress and sorrow to. They've spoken with their respective partners about being intimate with each other, and occasionally spend nights together and exchange playful flirting when they aren't around many others. Their closer-than-typical relationship isn't a secret (most of the time), more so just something they don't feel the need to yell from the rooftops. This does not apply to Dr. Yonekura, Tatematsu, or Toranosuke, though, as both Yuba and Ariadne would both heavily prefer none of those three ever hear about their closeness and would prefer they continue to believe they're simply friends.
She and Galahad Murunaga bond over their shared enjoyment of idols, manga, and their participation in oshikatsu. They have attended concerts together and introduced each other to their interests. Galahad has helped Ariadne learn most of what she knows about J-Pop idols. They gift each other cute items related to their interests occasionally.
When meeting the Rigor Samsa, Ariadne was mildly confused as to their nature but happily engaged in conversation with them. She gets along best with Rosset, Calenor, Perline, and Blanche, and is the most awkward with Solellion.
She, Perline, and Blanche get along thanks to their similar upbeat personalities. She encourages them to be kinder to each other. She greatly admires their positions and responsibilities.
She immediately thinks positively of Calenor thanks to their similar typing style and their intelligence. She would admire their kindness and would feel instinctively slightly motherly towards them.
She and Rosset are… A bit complicated. They immediately get along well, Ariadne being incredibly sympathetic towards him, and Rosset finds himself to feel less negative around her. They gradually grow rather close, Ariadne providing stability and support for Rosset when she is able to. Rosset becomes mildly possessive of her, being one of the few people he views in a strictly positive light after burning out because of his love for Reader. He adamantly refuses to consider the idea that he is attached to her, though, and Ariadne simply views him as a friend. A charming friend, sure, but a friend nonetheless.
Soleillon finds her personality irritating and disapproves of her closeness with Seki Kuneyasu and her friendliness with Rosset. Ariadne is intimidated by his rather blunt and occasionally impolite personality and fears upsetting him. At the very least, she respects his privacy and is fond of Calenor, two attributes of hers that he can appreciate.

Ariadne Luchian's Western Zodiac sun sign is Scorpio.
She has a pet cat named Gouda. He is a long-haired orange tabby who has lived with one of her old friends from University ever since she became employed at KFTI. She visits him when she goes OMS.
Ariadne is diagnosed with ADHD, ASD, and a panic disorder. She is also nearsighted and suffers from an iron deficiency and low blood pressure.
Her hair is naturally light brown, but she has bleached and dyed it a variety of colors.
A rough timeline of her hair colors would be light brown (natural), light brown with blue stripes, platinum blonde, pink, pink/black split, red, dark brown, dark purple, light brown (natural), dark blue, turquoise, dark pink, light purple, light blue, dark blue/light blue gradient, black, light brown (natural), turquoise, medium blonde, and finally dark purple again.
She is very fond of Dungeons & Dragons, and had a Tiefling Warlock character in University.
If given the opportunity now, she would play a Half-Elf Cleric character.
Her hobbies include photography, drawing, baking, and collecting cute things.
Her preferred materials for drawing are paper and pencil, pen, or sometimes alcohol markers. She is notably bad at using alcohol markers, though.
Dr. Luchian is fond of the characters made by Sanrio, especially Kuromi, Hanamaruobake, and Lloromannic.
She has associated Sanrio characters with most of her coworkers, and will occasionally gift them small trinkets of their associated character:

- Galahad Murunaga - Cogimyun. She has given him a plush, a button pin, as well as two keychains.
- Yuba Dannake - Pompompurin. She has given her a plush, two keychains, a comb, hair clips, a necklace, a pair of socks, and a tank top.
- Seki Kuneyasu - Chococat. She has given him a plush, a keychain, and a hand-embroidered tie she made herself.
- Kurumi Erita - Adorozatorumary. She has given her a keychain.
- Nene Kichibe - Wish Me Mell. She has given her a small keychain and a plush.
- Shinsuke Kitamuro - Chunenheroine Ojisan's. She has given him a small postcard with them on it.
- Minase Hattori - Marroncream. She has given him a small plush.

She enjoys K-Pop and J-Pop girl groups. As far as real groups go, her favorite K-Pop group would be Le Sserafim and her favorite J-Pop group would be Phantom Siita.
She is particularly fond of a cancelled manga series titled "PRETTY☆SICK HIMARI-CHAN", especially the main character who is the namesake of the series. The franchise in-universe takes inspiration on mental-health oriented magical girls with a focus on recovery and self-improvement despite your struggles, which Ariadne idolized heavily in university and still finds comfort in to this day.
Ariadne has an ita bag of Himari-Chan and a limited-edition plush of her from an old collaboration. She is not actively involved with oshikatsu anymore, however she still considers these items important to her.
Ariadne would cosplay as a hobby if she had more free time.
Her favorite flower is lavender.
She prefers coffee over tea, however dislikes bitter coffee. She enjoys mochas and iced coffees. She likes raspberry or hazelnut flavored coffee syrups.
Her favorite dessert is cheesecake, especially ones with chocolate.
Her favorite fruits are cherries, strawberries, and bananas in that order.

She often brings baked goods for her coworkers from home when she comes back from OMS.
She is fond of birds, specifically the columbidae family. She considers pigeons and doves to be incredibly cute.
She was raised culturally Eastern Orthodox and celebrates Christmas and Easter, however she considers herself agnostic.
She had a boyfriend in high school and dated two other people during university. Her high school relationship was rather unhealthy and ended after 8 months, meanwhile both of her university relationships were rather casual and only lasted 4-6 months each. She does not consider herself experienced in relationships whatsoever.
Ariadne owns a hot pink electric guitar that she bought in her mid twenties. She only knows a few very basic melodies, but because of how busy she is with her job and how little time she spends at home it has become abandoned in her closet. She occasionally daydreams about continuing to learn how to play it.
Her mother and her father are both Romanian and still live in Romania. Her mother is named Cornelia Isabela Luchian (by marriage, her mother's maiden name is Iacobescu), and her father is named Dumitru Sorin Luchian.
Ariadne is an only child, but owned 3 cats as a child who kept her company. She was also rather social as a child despite her occasional difficulties with fitting in as a result of her neurodivergency.
The exact phrasing of referring to her and Shinsuke Kitamuro as Tsutsujio's "divorced-but-never-together work parents" was coined by Ruo Mutai. Everyone who references this is aware of how much of a mouthful it is to say it, but they have all agreed to never find a more concise way to word it as they find it humorous.
Ariadne is bilingual, being fully fluent in both Romanian and Japanese, and is able to hold conversations in English and French.
She has always wanted to travel. France, South Korea, Belgium, the USA, the Philippines, Canada, England, Norway, Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, Holland, Denmark, India, and Australia are all countries she dreams of visiting one day.
If given the opportunity to take a month-long trip to any country, though, she would pick Romania as she hasn't been able to go back home in years to see her parents.
Her most-used social media would be Twitter and Instagram. She would use Reddit to look at posts Seki sends her, though. She used Tumblr when she was in university.

Because of her closeness to Dr. Kuneyasu, Ariadne has become a target of repeated harassment by Toranosuke Kan. She is often called into his office for similar reasons to Kuneyasu Seki, sometimes called in with him. When this occurs they are often pressured into intimate acts with each other, excused by Toranosuke as “something they’d find preferable to his direct involvement with either of them”. Ariadne and Seki both acknowledge this as an attempt from Toranosuke to sour their relationship with one another, although this doesn't exactly mean it's been ineffective. They occasionally find it difficult to allow themselves to be intimate or vulnerable with each other out of guilt and discomfort associated with the results of a traumatic event.
When Dr. Luchian decided to bleach her hair blonde, she faced what she considers the worst of the harassment from Dr. Toranosuke she has dealt with. He had called her into his office notably more, insisting that she “satisfy” him under the threat of him calling Seki in instead, or making a request to Dr. Tatematsu to prevent her from speaking to the Biology department or any interns. Dr. Luchian reluctantly went along with his requests. Her mental state was quickly worn down, and after a much more physical encounter with Dr. Toranosuke she took emergency OMS for 4 days, coming back with her hair now dark purple.
She is rather secretive with what exactly happened while she was home, several items in her home now lie in shattered pieces in the garbage, thrown against the wall in anguish during highly emotional moments. She didn't leave home for any of the 4 days except for once, ordering food delivery when she had to eat and surviving on whatever she had at home, and dyeing her hair with an old purple dye kit found in the depths of her bathroom cabinet.
She has also faced several degrading comments from Dr. Toranosuke, including remarks that “her body would be of better use to a whore than a psychologist”, implications of her bisexuality meaning she is less worthy of respect and consent in intimate situations, that “Dr. Tatematsu is right to dismiss her as a psychologist” and that she'd be more competent if she were a man, that her closeness with Seki Kuneyasu is her “asking for it” in terms of harassment, that her care in her appearance makes her unworthy of respect and being “viewed as anything other than an object”, critical remarks on perceived imperfections on her body while undressed, and more.
Dr. Toranosuke also possesses compromising pictures of Ariadne, taken during moments where he had threatened harm to herself or Dr. Kuneyasu if she didn't do as he said, and now also uses these as leverage to blackmail her into silence. Specifically, he has threatened to show them to the psych department, people Ariadne views very fondly, including Tamemichi Tsutsujio — someone she views as a son-like figure, as the idea is mortifying to Ariadne and he's more than aware of that.
After attempts to fight back or refuse Dr. Toranosuke’s advances, Ariadne has been subject to varying levels of physical harm. This includes being grabbed by the arm hard enough to leave noticeable bruising, being slapped across the face, having her hair grabbed, being choked, and having her jaw grabbed harshly enough to induce jaw pain lasting a couple of days after the encounter.
Ariadne greatly fears Kan Toranosuke as a result of all of this and experiences panic attacks and episodes of severe nausea at the idea of being around him alone. She has stopped changing her hair color ever since she first dyed it purple and has also refrained from getting new piercings despite expressing a wish to do so to her colleagues.
To her coworkers she insists she’s unbothered by Kan’s behavior towards her and avoids telling anyone about the worst of his harassment. To certain people such as Seki Kuneyasu, Yuba Dannake, and Shinsuke Kitamuro, it is an unspoken fact that she has been a victim of sexual assault at his hands, but she dreads the idea that others (notably Galahad Murunaga, Minase Hattori, and Tamemichi Tsutsujio) may be made aware of it.
When it comes to the head of her own department, Ainoshin Tatematsu, Ariadne for the most part isn't of much importance. She has been the subject of many rude and inappropriate comments made by Dr. Tatematsu, especially regarding her relationship with Dr. Kuneyasu and her treatment by Dr. Toranosuke. Her punishments for talking back to Dr. Tatematsu often involve being banned from going to the biology department or speaking to interns.
Dr. Tatematsu has also occasionally taken away Dr. Luchian’s prescription medication for her ADHD, intentionally causing her to be unable to work to her fullest ability, and then criticized and humiliated Ariadne for being “lazy and incapable”. She has also intentionally induced meltdowns for Ariadne, knowingly upsetting her during moments where she was already under severe amounts of stress as an attempt to make Ariadne lash out at her. When this succeeds she then treats Dr. Luchian as a dangerous and untrustworthy doctor, claiming she should be taught manners by either herself or Dr. Toranosuke.
Despite not being masculine in her presentation, Ariadne has still faced several attempts at being dehumanized by Dr. Tatematsu. This includes being referred to as an “it” after outbursts and forcing her to eat out of a dog bowl after periods of Dr. Luchian forgetting to eat, leading to her being lightheaded at work.
Dr. Luchian has not submitted any reports against Dr. Tatematsu, however she has submitted a singular report to Fukusaburou Saimi about her sexual assault. This report has not yet been brought up to anyone.
